    last time I was in Shenzhen I walked through a dark factory & the thing that got me was there were literally zero workers on the floor, the entire production line was running in complete darkness because when you don't have humans you don't need lights and these robots were

    when i was a junior engineer i thought it would be a good idea to wear a lab coat when i was out on the floor i was instagibbed by the welders. i was forever known as pointdexter. character building stuff

    i’m trying my best to summarize my dislike of 3d printing because it comes in waves. it boils down to: it’s not a serious process because of simple physics on one hand, it is a deeply useful technology for non-structural prototyping. but so are hammers and neither are
