Even if not staged, why is a white journalist turning a man’s trauma into a spectacle? Guiding him out of prison like a savior fantasy feels exploitative at best, voyeuristic at worst. Countless real, devastating stories of Syrian captives deserve to be told with dignity.

"I didn't want to meet my diplomatic counterpart & went to meet a warlord instead" is a rather odd flex. Athens needs to learn to compartmentalize its issues with Ankara from its relations w/ Libya. No good will come out of these antics - & Europe will lose further credibility.

The Foreign Minister of the Libyan transitional Government tried to force her presence at the airport so that I would have to meet with her. As a result, I cut short my visit to Tripoli and departed for Benghazi, where I outlined 🇬🇷 positions (statement in Benghazi, 🇱🇾).

Between Sky News Arabia sending a reporter to El Fasher to broadcast pro-RSF messaging, Friday sermons discouraging Emirati citizens from trusting international reporting on the UAE’s role in Darfur, and this type of soft PR content, it has been interesting to watch how Abu Dhabi

I know Libya became a factory for "bad news" overtime, & this clearly has desensitized many to its troubles... Yet it's difficult to overemphasize the scale of tragedy that unfolded in Libya's East after Storm Daniel. This is unprecedented, & Libya needs all the help it can get.
