ECGC is a premier Export Credit Agency (ECA) of the Government of India set up in 1957 under the Companies Act to provide export credit insurance services.
ECGC Ltd. paid a claim of Rs.27.28 crore to one of the leading rice exporters of India M/s KRBL Ltd. The claim was paid due to non-payment by one of the major buyers of KRBL Ltd.

It has been reported in various media reports that ECGC has withdrawn its cover on the export transactions to Russia, which is factually incorrect. It is clarified that coverage on export to Russia has not been withdrawn by ECGC.
