April 27 was the last time there was a White House coronavirus task force briefing, leaving us with more than a month without regular updates from the group Vice President Mike Pence was tapped to lead. (1/24)

- Dr Anthony Fauci had an operation today to remove a polyp on his vocal cord. He had general anesthesia and texted me after to let me know he was doing ok. Doctors have advised him to curtail his talking for a while to allow his vocal cords to recover.
- I know there’s a lot of focus on the election, but we cannot forget the virus. Yesterday we had more than 121,000 new Covid-19 cases – a record high. This is a stark reminder that though we have been at this for eight months, the pandemic is not over. Be kind and wear a mask.
- There will be too many cruel and unfair stories like this one. CoVID-19 doesn’t discriminate based on what you do or who you are… in this case… robbing the life of someone who had saved so many… my friend and fellow neurosurgeon, Dr James Goodrich. Please Rest In Peace.
- I walked into the lion’s den and spoke with with @joerogan on his podcast for more than 3 hours — vaccines, ivermectin, and much more. Friends tried to get me to turn down his invite, but ultimately I’m glad I did it.
- There should be medical reporters allowed at the medical briefings. *Does he have pneumonia? CXR/CT results? *Does he have evidence of increasing inflammation in his body? Blood test results? *When was his last negative test? *Why was dexamethasone added to his medications?
- Memorials matter. There has been no center of grief during this pandemic. The virus has kept us apart, meaning so much of our unimaginable loss has taken place behind closed doors. We haven’t been able share our grief.
00:00 - Replying to @drsanjayguptaDespite being diagnosed on Wednesday, the President did not isolate or even regularly wear a mask — possibly becoming a source of spread of the virus. (I cannot believe I am writing this)
- This graphic left a real impression on me. Look left: 1 person can infect 406 people within 60 days. Look right: that number drops to 2.5 people - not because of a vaccine, but with masks and physical distance. Now you can see the difference a single individual can make.
- I want to offer my congratulations to President-elect @JoeBiden, but also remind him that a record 126,480 Americans were diagnosed with Covid-19 yesterday. Cases are rising in 41 states & we're headed into a long winter. There are solutions, but they need to be implemented stat.
