Disgusting. Just disgusting. If this is what it seems to be, it’s another reason there *must* be an international enquiry by a major police organsation into the behavior of the #HKPF

#HKPoliceTerrorists just pepper sprayed a pregnant woman squarely on her face, smashed her with batons, pressed her hard to the ground and cuffed her with force. That's insane. Hope that she and her baby are fine. #PoliceBrutality #PoliceState

WHAT? Cheng was tortured for the #UK and then, essentially, fired? With only a 2 year work visa in compensation? "He was asked to resign from his post, although UK sources say he was provided with support, including a two-year working visa for the UK."
Simon Cheng stands against a city backdrop at night

The man chained at the waist and wrist, in the middle, #JimmyLai, is 73. He is a democrat and a newspaper owner. He has worked his whole life for #freespeech. A shocking, shameful image. @wang_maya is right, #HongKongers will never forget:

Seriously folks. If China can ban black clothing exports to Hong Kong to try to control politics, does anyone doubt it will use #Huawei and other #CCP companies to reach into "our" national critical infrastructure if it feels its political/party control threatened?

Perhaps it’s right to call #CoronaVirus the #WuhanVirus. To connect to truth. To insist on clarity over where it began. Because a massive campaign is underway; #CPC is intent on “winning,” snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, dominating the global narrative. Pivotal moment.

#Berlin #HongKong #PRC #student counter-demonstration. A young woman got mad at my “Made in Hong Kong” t-shirt. I said, but I am made in HK. She was speechless (blv it or not):

Retweeting this as reports emerge an ER doctor in HK has confirmed the rape of a female protester by police. The government must investigate; the situation has gone far too far already. The government must stick to commitments in the #BasicLaw to move toward full democracy:

Fires, beatings, arrests, credible reports of torture and rape in detention; #HongKong is in absolute chaos 22 years after the handover to #China. Only major, courageous, honest compromise by the HKG can save OC2S now: news.rthk.hk/rthk/en/compon…

Taiwan is often framed as a "problem" or "question", but the global discussion about Taiwan, which Taiwanese are effectively blocked from participating in, often overlooks that there are 23 million people here, most of whom want the right of self-determination.

"The term 'president' confers upon Xi a legitimacy and authority that he simply doesn’t have. It suggests that he represents the people of China on the world stage. He doesn’t. He represents the Chinese Communist Party, which is a very different thing"
