12 years ago, today I recorded this video inside the Jefferson Memorial. The Derecho of June 29, 2012, was the most intense thunderstorm I've witnessed.

Pancake ice swirling on the Potomac River near Great Falls this morning.
These circular slabs of ice formed in eddies below the falls and have raised edges from collisions with one another. They resemble lily pads. @capitalweather
I'm happy to report that Stumpy II is alive and well at the Tidal Basin. The tree is located on the north side near the Japanese Lantern. @capitalweather
