When George Floyd was killed last year, I sat down and wrote a column for Golf Channel. Earlier this year, I was asked to give a @TEDx talk on reimagining race in America.
Done some incredibly cool things in this business. Being able to interview Lee Elder after his role as honorary starter at @TheMasters is at the top. Thankful. @GolfChannel
Godspeed, Lee. I will miss you. Thank you for helping open doors for me and so many others. I’m glad we had some good times, starting in 2008 when we first met and beyond. You did it, Lee. You did it.
Four years ago I stood in the dark at the @WMPhoenixOpen and watched Tiger Woods blading chips across the green during his morning warmup. Was like watching Sinatra with no voice. He’d go on to shoot 82 in his second round. This transformation back continues to boggle the mind.
Walked nine with 17-year-old Grayson Murray and 16-year-old Jordan Spieth at the 2010 Thunderbirds. So much fun. @ToddBigPhoto captured this photo of two confident kids who dreamed of making it to the PGA Tour. Remains one of my favorite photos and now always will. RIP Grayson.
Just hosted the trophy ceremony of the @usopengolf in my hometown of Los Angeles. Wouldn’t have had that on my childhood bingo card in a zillion years. So grateful. Congratulations, Wyndham Clark. What a show you put on all week!
Tim Rosaforte was the ultimate reporter and teammate, a friend who never blinked when you needed help. He was tough and vulnerable, serious and witty. He was real. Thank you, Rosie. Blessed to have known you and to have followed in your large footsteps. Rest In Peace.
