- Replying to @GothamChess and @chesscomHi! Very sorry that this problem happened! Our servers are under some stress lately from more players playing on the site than normal, but the devs are working diligently to account for it. I refunded the 15 points you lost in this game, but it may take a few minutes to show.
- The square rule is a visualization tool that players use to quickly assess if a pawn can promote before the enemy king catches up to it. It works by visualizing a square on the board. The pawn can promote if the opposing king can't step into the square on its next move.
- Replying to @SheaSerranoHey! I can see you didn't say anything in an abusive manner, but unfortunately, the system flags it all. I apologize for the inconvenience.😅 I've just unmuted your account! 😎
- We are slowly rolling out an update to castling behavior. With this change, clicking on the king and then the rook will NO longer castle. Dragging behavior remains unchanged, and squares that you were previously able to castle by clicking on are unchanged.
- Did you know you can use a 3D board on @chesscom? It's helpful for practicing OTB vision! Go to your settings (chess.com/settings/board) and select "Real 3D" as the pieces. Then, you may choose any board color you want to go with it.
- We are aware of an issue that is preventing users from playing games on the site, among other features. Our team is actively working to get this resolved. Thank you for your patience.
- You'll notice your Puzzles rating has changed significantly, and it's probably lower than you remember. But don't worry—this is not simply a downward adjustment inside the same rating system. Instead, this change is the result of an entirely new rating system!
