The Substance is a highly enjoyable trashy B movie with an A-list cast that has been widely mistaken for an Important Message movie, which has had devastating consequences for the discourse.

"Why can't we all just get along?" will never be an effective plea, attitude, message, whatever you wanna call it. Now more than ever etc.

It actually does mean quite a lot to me that Carrie Coon, who on The Leftovers gave the #1 television acting performance for anyone with eyes to see, cares about trans people in this country

Lawrence of Arabia on the big screen should be like a public good like it should always show in every city in every country in the world like every few months, for free. Everyone should feel this.

The first time I saw Licorice Pizza I thought it was good, possibly mid, unworthy of note. Now, I understand it is totally magnificent, featuring one of the greatest performances (Alana Haim's obvi) of any actor of the last 30 years. A woman's picture. Kinda bleak. Heartfelt.
