A HUGE thank you 🙏 to @VancityReynolds for your kindness and generosity. These are tough times. We are in the mist of a #pandemic. But time is running out for a Toronto boy with an ultra rare disease. Michael’s story on @globalnewsto:
I hesitated posting this video of a demonstrator yelling #FHRITP at me while covering an anti-Black racism protest because I didn’t want to take away from the important message being conveyed by the crowd. Then I realized it wouldn’t be ME doing that .. he did.
One ER doctor on hospital row in Toronto with a sign “Protect hospitals.” He came before his shift. “This is sacred ground behind me,” he said. Let them protest, he added, but not here. @globalnewsto
I’ve given my word I will honour a boy, just 2 years old when he was taken from a town in France to #Auschwitz, where he was killed. His name was Pierre Dreyfus. Let us remember his name. #Auschwitz75#NeverForget#Rememberachild
HUGE shoutout to the Toronto teachers spending their evening ‘pivoting.’ I’ve gotten emails from both my kids’ teachers with lesson plans and web links. This is tough on families AND certainly on educators.
As a woman, journalist and a MOTHER of a girl and a boy - who will be raised with far more respect for women than that protestor - it dawned on me, I *should* share the video so everyone knows how NOT ok it was that that happened. So here’s the video once again:
There really are no words. Edward Lake - father of Daniel, Harry and Milly, killed by a drunk driver in 2015 - has died. Thinking of the family. Rest in peace, Ed.
Today my son was choking in the back seat of my car. I pulled over, ran around to grab him and was frantic. Two ladies came to my aid and called for a nurse (they work at a clinic nearby!) My baby is ok. My heart is a little hurt. But I’m so incredibly #grateful for good people.
