At the bar chatting up a blue collar cutie with tats & piercings who tells me she loves "edgy humor" so I pass off some @Howlingmutant0 classics as my own and not only does she not laugh, revealing herself as a philistine, she calls the police on me and also I get raped in jail.

Maybe the real monster was the generational trauma we made along the way. Guillermo Del Toro's new Frankenstein doesn't know if it wants to be a faithful adaptation of the novel, which we've never gotten, or a Shape Of Water style reversal- but those are obviously two opposite
