I've never once felt controlled by a friend protecting me from a creep. I'm shy and have trauma from men abusing me and don't speak up out of fear of getting hurt. I love and appreciate every single friend who protects me, which they do out of love, not jealousy

you could say those things, but it's risky when so many women get murdered just for rejecting a man. which is why we either have to be scary and unfriendly to hopefully ward them off or give them fake numbers so they don't stalk and kill us
