Sundance just announced FLORA AND SON from the director of SING STREET, please excuse me while rearrange my whole damn schedule to make that my new number one priority at the festival.
My jaw has never been dropped so hard over a film. Ever. THE SUBSTANCE is body horror with a purpose, and I was here for it from start to finish. From the smart script to the exceptional performances to the well-earned bloodbath, everything about this film sparkles.
I couldn't have asked for better payoff for DUNE PART ONE than the absolute epicness we're treated to in DUNE PART TWO. The scale of this movie larger than life, with incredible cinematography and sound design that rocked my world. IMAX strongly recommended. #DunePartTwo
TWINLESS got pulled from Sundance virtual before I could give it a rewatch. I had planned on making it my final film on Sunday, but now I'm bummed I didn't rewatch sooner.
On an even worse note, this may very well be the end of Sundance virtual.
From the first music number, I was locked in. EMILIA PÉREZ is an ambitious and challenging story bolstered by a unique vision, a phenomenal score, and powerful performances from Karla Sofía Gascón, Selena Gomez, and Zoe Saldana. I enjoyed the experience.

Upon second watch, y'all, IDGAF - DUNE PART TWO is nothing short of exceptional sci fi filmmaking. Seriously, an instant sci fi classic. This is exactly what audiences should be clamoring to see in theaters. GO SEE IT IN IMAX ASAP!
What a work of cinema. THE BRUTALIST might have a rather straight forward narrative, but the film feels grand, largely thanks to magnificent performances from the cast, great cinematography & a phenomenal score. Was totally locked in from start to finish.

I couldn't be happier to have ended TIFF on such a high note. HIT MAN is a certified banger with a super smart script & sizzling chemistry between its leading pair. Glen Powell's performance deserves all the accolades. Films like this are exactly what I come to TIFF for. #TIFF23
