Members of the Bayerisches Staatsorchester started visiting homes for the elderly to play some small programmes for the residents - an initiative quite a few orchestras took all over Germany. Let's do this more often! 🎻🌷😊

After tonight's performance of OTELLO our orchestra played a belated Happy Birthday for Jonas Kaufmann and he was given the Meistersinger-medal, donated by the Freunde des Nationaltheaters e.V. Bravo!! #BSOotello #BSOfestival

Mit Entsetzen und großer Trauer muss die Bayerische Staatsoper den Tod von Stefan Soltesz bekannt geben. Er verstarb heute Abend nach einem Zusammenbruch während seines Dirigats von DIE SCHWEIGSAME FRAU im Nationaltheater. Unsere Gedanken sind bei seiner Frau Michaela. #RIP

Tonight, after a fantastic performance of TOSCA Anja Harteros was awarded the "Meistersinger-Medaille" donated by the Freunde des Nationaltheaters e.V. This year marks her 20th stage anniversary at Bayerische Staatsoper, this award recognizes her outstanding work! Brava, Anja! 😍
