ok so. percy is partially ocean itself. he doesnt just move water he tells water to move and it obeys him. katara wouldnt need to bloodbend to control percy, he IS water. however his will would overrule her. at first katara would have the upper hand but percy would end up winning

hot take romance is never truly great if the story is just about romance. the reason these romances are so loved is because its a naturally developing second thought that's not a goal but an inevitable outcome. and it deserves to be loved and praised for nailing that.
