It's okay to forgive people for something wrong they tweeted back in 2012 or a mistake they made in 2016. If they apologised genuinely, have shown growth, and educated themselves since, don't hold them to what they were. Not all people are resistant to change, you know?
I think the problem with publishing right now is because writers are being forced to produce books in such inhuman speed, good writing is really hard to come by, making books and authors a lot more forgettable. Like, where are the writers taking 10 years to write a book?
Because by constantly reminding them of that one mistake they made that got them trolled, you're reminding them of the person they used to be and tried hard later to NOT be, and it's going to have an opposite effect from what you think.
