I knew being a trans legislator wouldn’t be easy, but I learned today just how hard it could be. Listening to my colleagues debate my humanity and my rights, and to have people I thought were my friends vote against them. Words can’t describe the pain of betrayal like this.

I declined an invitation to the White House today for pride. While I plan on voting for the President in November, I cannot participate in this administration’s celebrations while a genocide is still actively supported by it. There’s no pride without a free Palestine.

I’m tired of being called a groomer when Republicans are the ones fantasizing about “fertile” teenagers and demanding legal child marriage. Anyway, they lost - once Sununu signs SB 359, child marriage will finally be illegal in the state of NH.

OK State Senator after being asked about Nex Benedict’s murder refers to trans people as “filth.” It’s rare I’m shocked by transphobia these days but I just can’t imagine knowing a child died because of these hateful beliefs and responding so callously. Nex deserves to be here.
