My late parents’ apt emptied and put on sale, to mark 2023 as a year of closure. Dad 1939-2022, Mom 1945-2023, married in Seoul, had me in New York, lived in Silicon Valley in the 90s. Goodbye 2023! 2024 will be a year of beginnings for their college-graduating grandkids.

Accepted for #emnlp2020 "Suicidal Risk Detection by Military Personnel" We analyze social media posts, written anonymously in Korean by active-duty soldiers in S.Korea's compulsory military service to identify suicidal risk. Pretty neat work!

I just noticed all authors on this paper are women. I don’t try to recruit women students and collaborators, but they somehow like working with me 😊 Note that most of my previous papers have a much smaller # of women authors, often just 1 (me) 🥲
