I stumbled into a Chinese historic drama piece called Story of Yanxi Palace.
I was mesmerised by how the art direction shaped the world. Rather than focusing on one protagonist, the aesthetics of the world weave a web of stories together.
You know that feeling of “ugh it’s no good” as you are making something, then you just gotta slap your brain out of it.
Because tbh everything starts off as an ugly blob.
