Did you know San Francisco spends $2 million a year on a "Managed Alcohol Program?" It provides free Alcohol to people struggling with chronic alcoholism who are mostly homeless. I stumbled upon the building where they have this program. This is what I saw.🧵

When I came to San Francisco 15 years ago, San Francisco used to glow. The trees on Market St. were lit up at night and restaurants and bars were hopping. Now, too often, it's empty storefronts, homelessness and trash. How'd we get here? 🧵

Before the Pandemic, 250k people came to downtown San Francisco everyday. That number now sits at 40,500. The city has had several years to figure out a plan. Yet, almost nothing has changed. If we're going to save the city, it starts here. Downtown must be revived.

There's a simple solution to the drug crisis in San Francisco. Arrest the drug dealers. Make judges do their fucking jobs and arrest drug users who break the law and offer jail or treatment. That's not a conservative thing to say. That's a normal thing to say.
