- 20 mins into UConn vs. Louisville. Have NOT seen: -Crazy euro steps -Over dribbling -Jelly finishes at the rim -Hip drop swivel cross step slide skate HAVE SEEN: -Catch & Shoot (3s & 2s & layups) -Catch & Drive & Kick -Ball screens -Off ball screens -Constant Communication
- I’m not judging kids off fatigue this week!! I’ve coached this, 7 days of 2-3 games a day is insane. PROS don’t even do that, why would we think teenagers can. Keep balling kids we 👀 you!
- When your teammates celebrate your success as much as you do, especially when it’s your own record or amount of shots you give up for them, that’s a championship level environment/culture!
- LeBron leaves Cavs they drop to bottom in the East. LeBron joins Lakers they are competing w/Warrior dynasty. LeBron is a walking MVP every year.
- In 2010, I worked 7:30am-4:30pm landscaping @IndianapolisZoo. I heard a woman tell her kid “if you don’t stay in school, that’s the kind of job you will have”. I’d like to tell that lady 2 things. 1. That job was awesome! & 2. Happy New Years from Chapel Hill!!
- One of the most difficult things about club basketball has always been how PHYSICAL they are allowed to play. In college all the hand checking, pushing, grabbing gets a whistle. Skill sets get limited when it turns into a wrestling match.
- If you can SHOOT, like REALLLYY SHOOT. I’m talking hearing “SHOOTER SHOOTER”. You can play in college...just saying!
