NEW: OpenAI CEO Sam Altman likes to say he's never had equity in his company. Turns out, Altman had some equity in OpenAI through Sequoia at one point, which first invested in 2021. The CEO disclosed it on a podcast, and OpenAI confirmed in a statement to @TechCrunch.
