My daughter's period came on during P.E. today & her teacher shouted at her for asking to get a pad because 'What if this was a business meeting? Periods are something all women just have to deal with?' Ma'am, my daughter is 14 & fit, you're fat & out of breath. YOU do your P.E.

In year 6, my daughter was celebrating getting into the all-girls secondary school of her choice. She enthused, "Finally, there will be no boys around!" and her male teacher replied, "There will still be male teachers." as if this is a gotcha to a girl who'd been bullied by boys.

I wish there was a safe, vetted way to pair up elderly women in need of in-home assistance with younger women in need of housing. Uni students doing housekeeping/groceries/providing company would do wonders for loneliness, housing, and financial strain.

Update: My daughter's response was 'The difference between this and a business meeting is that a business meeting is actually important'. 😬 She says the teacher was too busy ranting to actually pay attention to what she'd said, thankfully. I'll be calling the school tomorrow.

Men think paternity leave is for playing video games while the baby sits beside them & their wife is asleep. What about doing that load of laundry, unloading the dishwasher, sterilizing bottles, reading to the baby, skin-time, tummy time, talking to your kid? Hatefully useless.
