@USArmy Colonel Bruce P. Crandall received the #medalofhonor for his courageous actions at the battle of Ia Drang during the #vietnamwar. COL Crandall served in @WANationalGuard and @CaArmyGuard during his career. @NGAUS1878 @CMOH_Society - Soldiers and airmen from the Washington National Guardโs 10th Homeland Response Force continued their support to the first responders following an implosion of a chemical tank at Nippon Dynawave pulp and paper mill in Longview, Wash.
These highly trained Guardsmen provided decontamination support to search and recovery teams. The 10th Homeland Response Force, which was certified in 2012, trains regularly and re-certifies for these types of missions that assist our communities following disasters.
- Guardsmen from the 420th Chemical Battalion start in processing and received a mission briefing prior to heading to the Nippon Plant incident in Longview, Wash. These Guardsmen will support first responders with decontamination efforts at the site.
