ON THIS DAY WE REMEMBER: SGT Derek R. Banks, 24, of Newport News, Virginia, died Nov. 14, 2007, of wounds suffered Oct. 25, 2007, in Baghdad, Iraq, when the vehicle he was in struck an IED. He was assigned to the VNG’s West Point-based 237th Engineer Co.

A crew of Virginia #NationalGuard aviators headed south yesterday with first responders from #Chesterfield County’s Scuba Rescue Team in advance of Hurricane #Milton. The team is now staged in Florida & ready to assist with rescue & evacuation missions as needed. 🚁💪
