The promise of this nation is real. And the progress that we've made possible during this Administration wasn't just about today, it was about tomorrow. It was about showing that America – and American democracy – works. Not just for the privileged few. But for all of us.
- Too many Americans have been impacted by gun violence. As I told Kya: It does not have to be this way. We know the solutions. We need universal background checks, red flag and safe storage laws, and an assault weapons ban.

Throughout my entire career, I have worked to make our communities safer. Our Administration has taken bold steps to end the epidemic of gun violence, but there is more work to do to save lives. We need an assault weapons ban, red flag laws, and universal background checks.
