Yesterday in Chernivtsi🇺🇦,UNHCR joined the Forum on Social Change organized by our partner @SSS_Ukraine. Discussions focused on improving support for internally displaced,especially older people.Partnership & knowledge-sharing remain key to inclusive & accessible social services.

After fleeing Kharkiv in 2022, Maryna & her children found safety in the western part of Ukraine. Thanks to @eu_echo 🇪🇺 funding, UNHCR provides temporary housing for displaced families across 🇺🇦, transforming municipal buildings into rehabilitated & equipped housing facilities.

On June 9, three air strikes hit Sloviansk, Donetsk region, damaging at least 54 homes. Together with @UNHCRUkraine , our team provided emergency shelter repair kits to help affected families temporarily secure their homes and restore basic living conditions.

As combined attacks continue to impact the Sumy and Kharkiv regions🇺🇦, dozens of people have been injured & residential buildings damaged. 🫂Response teams were deployed to the site to provide humanitarian assistance, incl. emergency repair, protection & psychosocial support.

Just 15 km from the frontline, life continues in Sloviansk 🇺🇦 🤝🫂Despite years of war and regular attacks, thousands of people remain here, and UNHCR supports people coming together in local initiatives providing psychosocial support, workshops & humanitarian aid.
