On day two, @BarhamSalih & @alexanderdecroo visited Mazar-i-Sharif, a city with deep significance and a major area of return. Meeting returnee communities, they heard how vocational training and small businesses are helping families rebuild, & where more support is still needed.

In Mazar-e-Sharif, @UNDP’s Administrator, @alexanderdecroo visited TAK Dry Fruit Company. UNDP support helped retain 400 jobs, 300 of them for women, created 100 new jobs, strengthen supply chains benefiting around 3,000 farmers.

At TAK Dry Fruit in Mazar-e-Sharif, I saw how @UNDP’s ecosystem approach creates jobs across the economy. Here, support to farmers, local infrastructure & private enterprise is helping this business grow and employ over 300 women. This is what investment in recovery looks like.
