- To all graduating #Epeeps fellows: Always know where you are when you are moving catheters, wires, and leads in the heart and vasculature. Use all the information you have at your disposal: fluoroscopy, ICE, electrograms, and tactile feedback. Be safe!
- Faraday Cage (aka cast iron skillet) placed over an RVAD to allow for communication with an ICD. Haven’t had to do that for a while. @narrowQRS showed me this trick in fellowship.
- Can we improve upon epicardial access? @JorgeERomeroMD has pioneered an approach using end expiration apnea, imaging with right ventriculography, and abdominal compression to obtain outstanding results. authors.elsevier.com/a/1hSVc,siTgg-…
- In EAST-AF, early rhythm control strategy led to a 30% reduction in mortality. Rhythm control also reduced every other component of the primary outcome including stroke, ACS, and HF hospitalization. This is what AFFIRM would have been if we offered ablation and anticoagulation.

- I recently had my first Apple Watch referral for arrhythmia management. This patient ended up having a concealed left lateral pathway resulting in rare symptoms that were never captured on previous monitoring attempts. The tracing looks pretty good.
