- Replying to @PicturesFoIderFirst two numbers add up to "make a ten". Then (plus) the remainder. 8 + 2 + 7 Or 10 + 7. This kind of thinking makes Algebra much less confusing later. It's worth being able to break down numbers in this way, and the visual gives you the hint with the blank/empty two boxes.
