Your Skills Ambassadors are students too - here are their best tips for study season 🫶💛 🔗 For more academic and wellbeing support, see the link in our bio

Image of Maryam sharing her tip - “Starting an assignment can feel overwhelming, but taking small steps makes it easier. Begin early, break your work into manageable parts, and stay consistent. Using short, focused sessions with regular breaks can improve productivity. Don’t aim for perfection at first—getting your ideas written down is what helps build confidence and progress.”
Image of Oghomwen with her top tip: “When writing papers, essays, thesis, and dissertations, remember to pace yourself. Start early and write a little at a time. If you struggle with writing, you can use the polmodoro method where you time yourself and alternate between 25 minutes of writing followed by a 5 minute break. Remember your first drafts don't have to be perfect, just concentrate on getting the words on paper.”
Image of Ahmad sharing his top tip - “Many students struggle to begin studying or start drafting an assignment and that’s completely normal. Everyone goes through a phase of procrastination. A good way to overcome it is to simply begin by reading through the assignment brief and making an initial plan or rough structure. Once you get started, the task often feels more manageable, and you become more intrigued and curious about what you want to say next. That momentum makes it much easier to stay engaged and keep going. Sometimes, the hardest part is simply beginning, so just sit down and start it!”
