It's amazing and surreal to see this. The very first BOOK on Odin is available NOW!!! @karl_zylinski has done an excellent job on the book and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn and understand the Odin programming language. odinbook.com

I don't know how many times I need to say this: LLMs are literally trained to be Bullshitting Engines. They cannot reason; they don't "understand" anything. All they do is give an answer that is highly probably to _sound_ correct, not actually _be_ correct (i.e. bullshitting).

I don't use assembly. I literally use a steady hand and a magnetized needle to program the computer directly. Keep thinking you need an assembler.

I don't use C. I literally use assembly and one simple command in my shell history to invoke an assembler and get the binary executable. Keep thinking you need C or a compiler.

Discord's "time spend in voice chat" feature has really bad formatting. WHAT IS THIS?! "%d:%d:%02d" How did this even happen?!

This is an absolute insult to both Wirth and Dijkstra to compare them to the snake oil salesman that is Mr. Martin.

Every generation needs its programming practices critic. With Niklas Wirth and Edsger Dijkstra gone, UBM is carrying the torch.

This trailer is just over 10 years old but it spawned a career for me and many others, as well as the many friends I made that I still have today. Thank you for everything you did, @cmuratori.

I'm really starting to hate Windows 11 so much. Even copy-and-paste is starting to be broken and have a 3 second delay. It's that bad. I'm not moving to mac nor linux yet until I have all of the tooling there.

Go is an unabashed procedural language. Why do people say "look it cannot do functional programming, therefore it's bad"? Do these people think before they write?

Go is not a simpler language folks. Fewer keywords does not equate simpler code. Not in writing code, reading code nor maintaining code 🤷‍♂️ Change my mind

I've noticed a lot of Go "hate" recently. And I want to clarify one thing—this is not error _handling_ but error _propagation_: if err != nil { return err } People complaining at the moment that this is annoying are usually the people who rarely HANDLE the error cases.

I cannot believe I am saying this but I'm going to have to defend this... JVM is actually a great piece of technology! Java is a "good" language but it's nowhere near the best languages, and that's fine. My problems with Java are mostly with OOP; not Java itself, per se.

You guys are too agreeable. Let me try again. Java is a good language and the JVM is one of the greatest contributions to modern software.

This is pure bait. The only true answer is to test. The bait is that there will be two camps: Cache Misses and O(N).
