Today is #WorldOceansDay! I have been fortunate to learn about #Canada's diverse #shorelines and travel by helicopter to see and capture imagery of parts of our beautiful #coastline that I could have only dreamed about #OceansProtectionPlan #WorldOceansDay2020 @environmentca

The health of our oceans and waterways, including pollution levels and oil spill concerns, should be a high priority for current and future generations of Canadians - so for #WorldOceansDay I showed my daughter the oceans on a map and she wore her ocean outfit! #ECCCFamily

#Fieldwork is an important aspect of our work to create the shoreline characterization #database. Over 33 days in 2018-2019, @ValerieWynja and I have mapped over 15,700 km of BC shoreline, collected over 140 hours of video and more than 167,000 photos! #WorldOceansDay

It’s #WorldOceansDay! Last year, our scientists photographed the #BC shoreline from 🚁. This year, they are staying home to review the photos, building an environmental profile of πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦β€™s Pacific Coast. Find out more about shoreline mapping: ow.ly/61Dz50A1LzN

#WorldOceansDay #Update: Our team in the #Geomatics lab has completed the characterization of over 10,500 km of British Columbia coast which accounts for OVER 43% of all data collected! Lots of hard work and an amazing job by all involved!! #OceansProtectionPlan #AmazingTeam
