Folks, I'm looking for a new job. My experience is in low-level systems programming, based in Stuttgart. Game engines, UI engines, physics and rendering engines. If this aligns with what you're seeking, please DM me or email me at [email protected] Portfolio link in the

I think I've written the world's fastest Blender exporter. It exports full levels in 9 milliseconds. Check out this video where I show live editing of levels from blender, and it updates instantly in the game. For some context: Okay, since the beginning of development on this

Check out this ARC demo showcasing accessibility features and keyboard navigation. All visuals are ARC UI elements, no shader tricks involved. Enable audio to hear the screen reader.

Check out the ARC Starter Kit running in @d7samurai's D3D11 example. ARC ships with ready to use renderer backends which is perfect for when you want to quickly add ARC to a project without writing a renderer and or using it as a solid starting point. ARC also ships with a

My talk at @BetterSoftwareC is now live on YouTube! I had the privilege of demoing ARC, our new Immediate Mode UI library written in C, followed by a Q&A. Presenting our work in front of some of the world’s best programmers was a massive honor, and the feedback has been

Multithreading: @voxagonlabs's recent talk at BSC explains the lockless multithreading quite well: x.com/voxagonlabs/st… Also @cmuratori covers it in detail the handmade hero series: guide.handmadehero.org/code/day123/ Arenas: @TheGingerBill and @rfleury both have great blog post

Whenever people bring up excuses for modern software being slow, I always bring up GTA IV. You have a very advanced simulation of New York city running at 60fps, takes ~5 seconds to load and all of this is happening on an Intel Core Duo, with 1gb of system ram. Get real.

I also implemented a flow map shader, that I can use to create rivers and water pathways that follow along a path. This was so fun to do!

One question I get about ARC is how many lines of code does it take to create [X] UI? This animated Keyboard UI (including the title text) is written in 160 lines of C code. It’s deliberately verbose to serve as a clear, straightforward example of building UIs with ARC.

I briefly looked into it and saw that some people had success doing it, but it seemed more difficult to do, there were some gotchas about it, and a fair bit of the code still had to remain in Python. So it seemed like a better decision, longer term to go full C.

Oh I'm really looking forward to this one! ARC uses @jimmy__lefevre's kb_shape library as the default text backend. While we also provide other backends like Harfbuzz, kb_shape's simplicity makes it the best one by far. It's a part of what makes ARC good.
