I’m 91 and I have much to be thankful for. Friends, family, music and a never-ending rush of adrenaline I still get from hockey! ⁦@TheHockeyNews⁩ ⁦@MSGNetworks⁩ ⁦@NHL⁩

Dear John Tavares: Thanks for being so available under difficult interviewing situations. Now one question: What took you so long to make this "Toughest Decision." Why didn't you tell @Islanders owners sooner?

Today, February 3d, would have been the 55th wedding anniversary of me and Shirley Walton Fischler who passed away nine years ago. We had almost five neat decades together and they'll always give me the fondest of memories. Great mom and great wife.

With all due respect to the @TBLightning, I saw flaws in their sweep of Florida. Their long break means rest is rust. They are the Champs but the Law of Averages is catching up with them. Attrition and overconfidence as well. @NYRangers also have "Destiny" going for them. NY:6!

The @NYIslanders iconic #ClarkGillies was the kind of human you'd want your son to be. Jethroe was The Role Model's Role Model. He had everything, savvy, sensibility, sense of humor, sense of a teammate and an all-round wonderful guy who I loved very much as a pal. R.I.P. Clark.

It's really been easy for me to reach my 92d birthday today. I keep watching hockey & it makes me feel so young. Not always happy & not always triumphant, but always the adrenaline keeps flowing, making me feel more like 29! ⁦@TheHockeyNews⁩ ⤵️

Much sooner; as in soon enough so that the club you were so devoted to could make a move to compensate for your loss? Just wondering, pal.

Since 1942, I have followed the @NYRangers as fan, v.p. of the Rangers Fan Club in 1951-54, worked for the club in 54-55 and covered them ever since. No question, this outfit is the most disappointing most anti-fan and horrific disaster of a NY hockey franchise in my memory.

This was the best game I've seen an @NYIslanders team play in a long time -- in the clutch. Fantastic coaching move by Barry Trotz going with Greiss Is Nice. Every single player played his heart out. It was Isles hockey at its very best. How sweet: winning goal by Great Scott!

Exceptional THANKS to those who've wished me a Happy (93) Birthday, March 31. I'm grateful to be blessed with two wonderful sons, Ben and Simon, and a supportive family. And grateful beyond words to remain actively writing with both warm support and harsh critics. Love you all!

Looking backward at the glorious @StLouisBlues Cup triumph, one thought comes to mind: The Big, Bad Blues bopped the formerly Big, Bad @NHLBruins at every turn. In the end, Boston could not handle the hits and were literally beaten at their own big, bad game. Simple but true!

When the @MapleLeafs signed #JohnTavares after he walked out on the @NYIslanders, Toronto figured he was the missing piece for The Cup. Post-season after post-season The Pyjama Boy came up rather short, wouldn't you say. For the Isles, his exit was addition by subtraction.

Final thoughts on tonight's epic in Raleigh: In @NYRangers favor: 1. Momentum (huge); 2. Confidence (huge); 3. Goaltending (Very huge); The Law of Averages says @Canes can't keep winning at home. And that's just for starters. Thus, I stick with my conclusion, 4-1, for New York.

Ken Dryden -- whose passing is incredibly sad for me -- was truly a one of a kind; and then they threw away the mold. His brilliance in goal was matched by his conquest of the writing business and his fervent desire to make hockey better. Plus, he was just a sweetheart of a guy.
