🔵 Scotland’s water quality is at its highest level ever, with 87% of our water environment rated as good or better. 🔵 2023 sees the highest number of bathing waters & 98% of are rated as sufficient or better. 🔵 We take 1,500 samples and update data at 10am during season.

In 2023 we served civil penalties totalling £85,700 for breaches of environmental regulation. They include 13 Fixed Monetary Penalties of either £300 or £600 for offences such as burning waste, breaches of water use licences and failing to provide SEPA with copies of documents
