A point guard has to be a leader. You have to come in every day like it’s the greatest day you've ever had. Nobody can know you’re down. You need to be even-keeled and consistent. And you have to distribute the ball and guard the best player on the other team. Not easy to do.

I appreciate my dad because he always told me the truth. He was realistic about what I was and he held me accountable for how I played. If I stunk, he told me. If I did good, he told me. He didn’t care how many points I scored. Did I play hard, did I play smart, did we win…

College basketball is different. Guards have to be efficient with the dribble and learn how to navigate in tight spaces. Make the simple, winning play. I watch some of these workout clips and it’s not the game. It’s not preparing you for the next level.
