I have long called out @SteveKingIA for his racist remarks. While his trajectory of racism is nothing new, it is becoming impossible to ignore. This ideology is unacceptable in the halls of Congress.

My heart goes out to all Iowans. Though it unsettles me that @SteveKingIA would dare compare them to the countless victims of Katrina, many of whom lost their lives. When people show you who they are, believe them. Steve King is a white supremacist and I won’t stand for it.

Fact that @washingtonpost confirms but the family & state officials haven't been notified is an indictment on DOJ.

The @NRA has neutered the Republican Party. We won't let them do it to America. #NoBillNoBreak

New Orleans has truly lost a piece of our heart that we will never be able to fill. I mourn the loss of our beloved jazz icon, Ellis Marsalis Jr. His music will forever fill our hearts with joy and our streets with melodies. May his soul rest in paradise.

Today the world lost a political pioneer and tireless champion for justice. I lost my treasured colleague and friend. A principled and passionate leader, Elijah Cummings dedicated his life to public service. May he rest in power and his legacy last a lifetime.

We have truly reached the end of an era with the passing of my dear friend, mentor, Civil Rights legend, and American icon @repjohnlewis. I’m grateful for his wisdom, sacrifices, and lifelong fight for justice. I thank him, I love him, and I will sorely miss him.

Many Attorney Generals before Sen. Sessions fought for the rights of black & brown people. I am not confident Mr. Sessions will do the same.

Special Counsel Mueller made clear today that it is up to Congress to take further action. It is the responsibility of Congress to respond to numerous cases of misconduct described in the Mueller report and to ensure that no one is above the rule of law.
