Antifa and their supporters have lost their damn minds. I'm calling on UW to hold these folks accountable and remove them from campus. These aren't students - they are antagonists with no ideology beyond creating chaos. Students and the public have a right to be safe. @UW

Since the video of the incident recorded by @KatieDaviscourt last night at the @UW protest encampment is now getting around, here's most of the full incident (at least everything I rolled on). You don't see much because of the umbrellas, but the audio is... interesting. *Caution

    Replying to @BrandiKruse
I support democracy and the right of folks to be involved in democratic protests and counter protests. Swearing and yelling at young kids at these events when they are just there on either side as their parents engage - regardless of viewpoint - is never acceptable.

Destruction of property is not the manner to make your point. Criminal activity is not acceptable and burning cars or any vandalism in the name of a cause is not ok nor does it have an impact of change. Significantly dilutes the message. Prosecute if caught. Full stop.

Choices have consequences. These “demands” are nonsense and short sighted. To expect a warm welcome is missing the point. You can’t damage $1m in property and expect a thank you or a pass. Intimidation will not work and is dangerous.

About 100 people gathered outside of Gerberding Hall, where the Office of the President resides, to demand that UW reverse the students' suspensions and ask the King County Prosecutor's Office to drop criminal charges. st.news/436mJzR

I’m not sure who needs to hear this. Any legislator who says “I wrote a bill” or “I passed a bill”, is not honest. No, you didn’t. No one in the leg does a bill alone and staff deserve the credit they are due for drafting and a body of folks who vote 🗳 to move it along.

This is heartbreaking tragedy. Once again, antisemitism reared a vile head and hate screams loud here. If you think it can’t happen in WA, think again. Repeated actions at UW to other WA incidents are a good training ground for folks. The rhetoric is similar and dangerous. 1/2

We are heartbroken by the loss of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, beloved members of the AJC community, who were murdered last night outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., following AJC’s annual Young Diplomats Reception. We mourn with their families,

So hard to see what those babies go through and the care needed and received at PICC. If we don’t have beds available, and there are beds here, and they are can do so with little to no dollars, we need to keep this facility open. Closing is a mistake.

Washington has one of the strongest elections’ system and stirring fear by suggesting otherwise, is ridiculous. By all means, the court system is a proper use for disputes, but not for the purpose of sowing fake concern to spin an agenda.

Weighing in on middle housing. Local control and knowing your community is a legitimate concern - it’s okay to express that opinion. And, there’s a crisis, homes aren’t being built in the pace we need and with the flexibility of multi-units. Status quo doesn’t work. #waleg

Komo reported that 19 officers and 42 public agencies involved. Resources taken away from the public. A man just doing his paper route and his job. Trust is paramount in law enforcement and when the top Sheriff does this, and then doubles down, hard to see how change happens.

Recently I spoke in support of a good bill, sponsored by @RepLeavitt, to add sentencing enhancements for retail theft. Washington state is the #1 state for retail theft crimes, and adding more consequences will hopefully deter such activity. Watch: ⬇️ youtu.be/yS0HxeHYCR4?si…
