Mr. President—“that woman” in Michigan has a name. It’s @GovWhitmer. She’s the duly elected leader of a state that has ten million people. So please have some respect, @realDonaldTrump, for her and the office she holds. People can have disagreements but still respect each other.

I have been very reluctant to use the tool of impeachment, and have always viewed it as a tool of last resort. But I've come to the conclusion that the President’s actions have brought us to a moment where Congress must open an impeachment inquiry to defend the rule of law.

I am in the House Chambers. We have been instructed to lie down on the floor and put on our gas masks. Chamber security and Capitol Police have their guns drawn as protesters bang on the front door of the chamber. This is not a protest. This is an attack on America.

First, Republicans objected to private depositions even though they were in the room. Now, they don't want public hearings. Their only goal is to create a circus environment. Why doesn't the GOP want the American people to learn the truth about @realDonaldTrump's abuse of power?

Millions of Pakistanis showed up at the polls to make their voices heard. Any violence, undue restrictions on voting, or alleged vote tampering must be fully investigated. I condemn any attempt to undermine Pakistan's democratic process or suppress the will of the people.

I’m still recovering from last week’s cancer treatment, but I had to be at the Capitol to vote NO against the Republican default bill that would eliminate American jobs, hurt our economy and take away health care from veterans.

The former President doesn’t know anything about my hometown of Flint. Calling Michigan’s auto industry an “afterthought” is a slap in the face to the hardworking auto workers in my district. Thanks to @VP, we’ve brought American manufacturing jobs back to mid-Michigan.

I have two grandchildren, Caitlin and Colin. Some day, I know they will ask me about the time a President thought he was above the law, and what I did to stop him. My answer to Caitlin and Colin is this: I voted to uphold our Constitution and impeach @realDonaldTrump.
