It doesn't really work unless you buy a new smartphone every 1-2 years. The .apk/.ipa sizes of Chinese apps are hugely larger than western ones and they will lag and even unusable on older devices. Not to mention 134512 bundled big data SDKs that collect every device fingerprint.
I spent the whole last year to reduce the memory usage of the Linux kernel.
So you can get why I was so angry seeing such a comment that I failed to see the older version a few lines above.
My point is, the need of a stable API/ABI already justified their actions and there is no need to say more. Saying "Memory is cheap" is not only unprofessional and arrogant but also sounds like these tech giants("a new EC2 xlarge instance is cheaper than a full-time employee").

Here's a brief introduction of the #Notkia in case you didn't know:
- Nokia 168x shape
- Runs mainline Linux
- 2200+ CoreMark, 64MiB RAM
- LoRa, WiFi (has monitor mode), Bluetooth
It was obsoleted in late 2022 due to RF technical difficulties and Nokia's intervention.

Reduce kernel thread size, log buffer size, NR_IRQs and TTY flip buffer size. Remove the FPU emulator. Use PIO instead of DMA. Remove native TCP/IP support and use lwip in userspace. Remove unused disk and flash drivers. Use squashfs and jfs instead of ext4/f2fs.
