Travis Jankowski was told he would not be on the MLB roster during Spring Training, an injury to Taveras gave him an opportunity to break camp in MLB.
García went down in the WS with an injury and Jankowski’s name was called.
Not to mention he hit over .300 for a stretch
Jonah Heim started and caught every game in the Postseason. He did so with a wrist injury that more than likely needed surgery to fully heal.
