This sucks because: • Poor people will struggle more • Abandonware continues to be deemed as a company's active property • Funding and time spent isn't going to operations that need more attention than this • Big companies continue seeing piracy as a boogeyman and people

Unacceptable. Even if the data was allegedly wiped and the software was removed, this is illegal and shouldn't have been done in the first place. Developers should NEVER add malicious software to their games through patches, especially on platforms like Steam that force updates.

The idea of purchasing a single-player game that you won't be able to play without internet sets a bad precedent for game preservation. Travelling without internet? No game Want to play in the future? Servers out, no game Don't allow this to be the norm, fight it while you can.

Key reselling websites hurt indie developers like us. There are many ways to obtain our games and we STILL prefer piracy over people buying from those websites. Illegaly obtained keys are a source of money for scammers and it could even affect you as the customer in some cases.

We are not against pirates. Many people who support us these days have started by pirating our games before buying the games legit Do keep in mind, indie developers like us will only be able to do new and cool stuff with financial support You can pirate, but consider supporting

Developers can opt to make their Steam games DRM-free, which is what we and plenty other indie devs did. All you need to do is move the game files somewhere else and you'll have a copy for yourself that can't be taken away from you. That gives you... ownership of the game.

This censorship is powered by the two major duopolistic payment networks and, as usual, the key people behind it don't even play games. This may gradually become worse. Soon, games like the POSTAL series, Rimworld and many others may have severe struggles if these precedents are

CD Key sites like G2A have been hurting indie studios for years. Want to support us? Buy from our website: runningwithscissors.com No money? just pirate our games. Just don't buy from those key reselling websites that may (or may not) contain illegaly obtained keys.
