- AAU has a parents problem.

- Your offense will get you noticed, but know that you will never play for any college if you can't defend your position.
- Dust is still settling. Class AAA State Finalists. Bearden Memphis East Franklin Brentwood Sevier County Whitehaven Oakland Cleveland
- You do not to get exposure in middle school. You need to develop skills. Find somebody who cares about your skills improving. Not your hype. If you get skills...I will find you. College scouts will find you. The best AAU coaches will find you.
- Everybody must learn to be a role player. I was told by a scout. 'We don't need Hardens. We will get 1-2 great scorers, but what we need are guys that will defend all game, bust their ass in practice, and keep their grades up. That is what we need.'
- Defense is like laundry. It isn't glamorous and nobody is going to pat you on the back for it...but if you don't do it consistently you are going to stink.
- I am looking at NAIA rosters. It appears 6'5" bigs can thrive at that level. If you are undersized big take a look at some NAIA recruiters and reach out.
- Being the best at your high school isn't enough. Most of the "best at their high school" never play college. Challenge yourself against the best in your city, the best in your county.
- The one thing I keep trying to impart on young athletes is...Surround yourself with greatness and you will be forced to adapt. Stop trying to find a school or AAU team where you will be a star. If you don't conquer those challenges now you will never conquer them later.
- Ryley McClaran was huge in his Tennessee Tigers 90-76 win over Pro One 2020 in the 17U bracket at the #BamaJam. The lefty had a smooth 28 points scoring in a variety of ways and iced the game away at the free throw line. Has NAIA and D2 interest at this point.
