Mr. Reyna’s sexist & misogynistic comments about female referees are deplorable. The PSRA considers his actions disqualifying for employment in MLS & beyond. MLS cannot provide a haven for Mr. Reyna’s opinions while also celebrating the quality & diversity of its own Officials.

This past weekend in #MLS, many players and coaches stood up and spoke the truth regarding the impact MLS has created by continuing to use replacement refs. Points were lost, red cards were incorrectly given while other red cards were incorrectly not given, and "stonewall"

Mere days after Don Garber told us how content MLS was with replacement ref performances… MLS had an extremely controversial weekend of refereeing decisions. Coaches and players seemed to reach a breaking point, risking fines to sound off on it. theathletic.com/5348671/2024/0…

Why we're unionizing: “There was an NWSL game recently in which the crew's locker room was a canopy tent in the parking lot. No walls. I mean...picture that. We have asked for improvements. We have waited. It’s clear that we must make some basic changes.” #PRO #NWSL #USL

Our statement regarding PRO's decision to fight the unionization efforts of their NWSL & USL Officials in PRO2. Our PRO2 officials desire a professional structure as well as training & instruction environments needed to improve the officiating in these leagues. #PRO #NWSL #USL
PSRA Statement Regarding the Unionization Effort of NWSL & USL Officials

The Professional Soccer Referees Association (PSRA) is deeply disappointed the Professional Referee Organization (PRO) has refused to voluntarily recognize PSRA as the certified bargaining representative of its group of NWSL and USL officials known as “PRO2”. After an overwhelming show of interest from the Officials, PSRA has filed a representation petition with the National Labor Relations Board to certify PSRA as the exclusive bargaining representative for this unit of professional officials so these officials may collectively bargain for terms and conditions and work toward improved refereeing standards both on and off the field.

“At a time when we have seen increased attention on officiating in NWSL and USL, we find it particularly troubling that PRO, on behalf of those leagues, would reject our members’ request for union recognition and collective bargaining rights,” said Steve Taylor, Executive Director o

Maybe there’s a reason the members rejected the MLS/PRO offer of "25% overall increase." #FairPayisFairPlay

Good news! The Unionization of PRO2 Officials is complete. @PROreferees has withdrawn their NLRB appeal & Officials in #NWSL & #USL can begin negotiating a CBA. This will raise the professionalism & quality of Officials to the standards the players, teams, & fans desire. #1U

After the Nov 4th NYRB/FC Cincinnati match, a player gained unauthorized entry into the Officials’ locker room & was forcibly removed by stadium security while acting in an aggressive & hostile manner. No one's safety should ever be at risk & we expect MLS to act accordingly.

We're proud to announce the NLRB certified a successful unionization vote for #PRO Officials in #NWSL & #USL today. The final vote count of 68-3 in favor is a clear message that these professional Officials want better standards as they work these growing leagues.

Our officials are the backbone of fair play in MLS, bringing years of expertise. But now, MLS wants to use “replacements.” This will shake up the upcoming MLS season, leaving crucial calls and player safety in inexperienced hands. Pro Refs for Pro Soccer. #FairPayisFairPlay

We appreciate all the support while we are locked out by MLS & PRO. We also want to reiterate that the line is clear: no sports official ever deserves to be abused by anyone. Referee Abuse is a plague on sports at all levels and must end. #FairPayisFairPlay #ProRefs4ProSoccer

The additional contract adjustments we are asking for? Approximately $100K per team. Think about that. That's less than 1/10th of the ticket sales for one home game. That's what is keeping us off of the field to start this season. #FairPayisFairPlay #ProRefs4ProSoccer
