Very unlikely Tesla actually makes $200/week a hard cap on AI spend for all employees.
But a default cap makes sense. Just as allowing contributors to hire unlimited junior staff is likely to be a crutch that enables poor management/execution (even aside from their cost),
Tesla is one of the smartest, cracked and most advanced engineering companies in the world.
If they actually did this, then it is likely verifiably true that a dollar above $200/week is waste.
