I’m struggling to understand why there was a need for a mass funeral when most families opted for private funerals. The empty caskets? Why?

2 were burried yesterday already. 10 families are having their funerals over the weekend.
Only 2 have bodies I think, the rest are empty. Empty sesi, empty.
