A slow moving boundary will bring chances for thunderstorms this evening through Wednesday. It's Tuesday evening and overnight that has the greatest concern, with training storms and heavy rainfall being possible. #mnwx #wiwx
Map of the severe weather risk today, with a level 2 out of 5 risk extending into western and central MN. Storms will move out of northwest MN this evening. They will dissipate as they move into central MN, though will still pose a threat for severe weather.
Map showing the severe risk for Tuesday and Tuesday night. There is a level 2 out of 5 risk west of I-35 and a level 1 risk east of I-35. Multiple rounds of storms with heavy rain will possible to the north of a stalled out boundary. Exactly where this boundary sets up will determine where the greatest risk for severe weather and heavy rainfall will reside.
Maps showing the heavy rain risk Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The Slight Risk Tuesday is in MN north of Mankato, with the risk Wednesday morning across east central MN into western WI.
Map showing the severe weather risk for Wednesday. It is a level 1 out of 5 risk for all but central MN. The main risk will be damaging wind gusts and hail.

Outside of a stray shower today, we'll get a break from all the storm chances through Monday. Storm chances return Tuesday, with threat for severe weather and heavy rain Tuesday evening and overnight. #mnwx #wiwx
Two maps of southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. One shows the risk of severe weather. There is at least a level 1 out of 5 risk for the entire area, with a level 2 risk west of the Twin Cities. These same general areas of a level 1 and 2 risk out of 4 for excessive rainfall. A complex of storms is expected to move across central and/or southern MN Tuesday evening and into western WI late Tuesday night. Strong winds and heavy rain will be the main threats, with uncertainty remaining with just how far north or south this complex of storms will track. Forecast for today through Tuesday calls for highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s.

Heavy rain at NWS Chanhassen is starting to diminish. The storms are moving along enough so any one location should get 30 or so minutes of heavy rain b4 it tapers to lighter rain. Ponding is likely at some intersections, some underpasses, & construction areas.

We have been notified that a funnel cloud was observed SW of Waconia. We are monitoring this storm closely but luckily appears quite high off of the ground. We can also see the storm from our office and it doesn't look like the funnel is still there. #mnwx #wiwx
