WARNING: NOPD's Traffic Unit will conduct 'DWI Saturation Patrols' this evening (June 18, 2026). The patrols will begin at approximately 7 pm & continue overnight. This effort provides extra officers on the streets of NOLA who will be specifically looking for impaired drivers.

This is a late report. A tornado is believed to have touched down in Orleans Parish in the Lakeview/Navarre area. Police are assessing the area and have closed the underpass on Canal Boulevard due to high water. Please avoid the area until it is reopened.

A tornado is also believed to have touched down in the UNO area. Assessments are under way in that area as well. If you do not absolutely need to be on the roadways right now, please remain where you are and allow crews to assess and clear any possible damage.
