Be careful in your words about Trump “having sex with a porn star.” Notice that one person remains humanized in this statement: Trump. The porn star is reduced to their work and the “shock” of the story is rooted in lack of respect for sex workers. #Trump #sexworkiswork

I am so angry. Sex worker bank accounts being seized in Canada. Incredibly invasive age verification coming to Canada. Anti-trafficking narratives fuelling the arrest of community. Bills to shut down community care. Surveillance AI catching SWers at the border based on their ads

Did you know that there's an impending bill in Manitoba that would require taxi drivers and hotel staff to call the police if they think someone might be a sex worker? Wearing a short dress and paying cash for a cab home from the bar? You could get a "wellness check".

Age verification is gearing up to be like SESTA/FOSTA. A bill that claims to save children that never fulfills its purpose but oversteps into everyone's privacy rights and deplatforms countless women, 2SLGBTQ folks and sex workers.

There's a sentiment that it's disgusting to have porn shot in a hotel room or airbnb because that's not what the rooms are for. I'm curious what folks think porn performers do that sullies the space in the way the average couple or single person hosting a date wouldn't?

Sex work doesn't have to be empowering to be valid work. Did I feel empowered every day as a flight attendant? Absolutely not. Has every moment of my porn life been empowering? No way (though more than flying). Did both of them give me experience and keep the lights on? Yes.

Twitter "verifying" human accounts terrifies me, and should scare you too. What does that involve? Providing your ID to a private company that then ties that to your internet/real life? What about sex workers? Queer folks? Protestors? YIKES MAN.

Apparently the credit card fees I pay annually to run a "high risk" porn site that has never had a chargeback, have just *DOUBLED* for no reason. On top of the 14% fees/transaction. This is likely the final nail in the coffin for my site.

Been thinking a lot lately how legislation around credit card processing, site registration requirements, other hurdles have kept adult film producers, directors, and performers from marketing themselves independently - and basically fed the porn monopolies and their algorithms.

It's fascinating. Age verification in Canada started as applying only to major adult websites. Then it extended to websites w 33%+ adult content. Now we're talking about *anywhere adult content could be*, incl social media, video games, search engines, messaging apps.

I desperately need y'all to understand that there are *dark times* coming for women in Canada. And they're being ushered in by hating sex workers, trans women, and queers. They get you on board with hate, and then your rights are next. Don't fall in the trap, please.

How does that make you feel? Do you feel protected? Safe? Looked after? Because that's what's on the table here. Remember that sex workers look like regular people, and you look like a regular person, so you look like a sex worker too.

The results are super far-reaching, and I'd argue that they're a huge step backward for feminism and personal freedoms. And you *know* BIPOC folks are going to be suspected of "being trafficked" than white folks. Resulting in more wellness checks by armed officers.

Imagine a world where you pay cash for your taxi to have a sweet little staycation by yourself. You arrive at the hotel, unwind, pop a little bottle (so cute!) and then the cops barge through the door because you had the audacity to be a woman (or femme-presenting person) alone.
